Design Plans for the Cayuga Waterfront Trail
When the award-winning Cayuga Waterfront Trail is complete it will follow the edge of the Cayuga Inlet for six miles.
The trail will unfold in three sections:
Cass Park Section: the two-mile Cass Park Trail is already enjoyed by many joggers, walkers, strollers, and cyclists throughout the seasons. Visit it now.
Inlet Island to Farmers Market section: NYSDOT is currently in the process of mapping and appraising the required easements. We anticipate construction of phase 2 to occur in 2012.
Visitors Center to Farmers Market: linking the Farmer's Market to the Visitors Center via Stewart Park. Construction was completed in Fall 2010 and the trail is widely used by locals and visitors alike.
Route 13 Crossings: The design of improved pedestrian crossings of at Dey and Third Streets is underway and construction is anticipated in 2012.
